It doesn’t have to be sink or swim

It’s not as absolute as that, it’s not an either or, there is space between those two extremes, to float.


It’s a more positive way of thinking, that I find helpful with some important things coming up in my diary. Of course I want to smash it, and I’m taking them seriously and putting the necessary prep in.


But if your expectation is that you have to swim. To be amazing in a high stakes, high pressure, unfamiliar situation, then all you do is make it tough for yourself. Making it harder to swim, and sinking more possible.


But what if all you need to do is float? That sounds far easier, more natural and definitely achievable. It takes some pressure off, makes it more comfortable, freeing you to perform better. Adopting a mindset of, ’I only need to float’ will make the outcomes all together more positive.


So for me.. Sink never, Swim hopefully, Float definitely.
